Orangutan Travel 5 Days / 4 Nights

Our tour is private or not available for sharing. We have prepared some tour package to help your planning and guide your decision what to do during your visit. 4% of your trip payment will be donated to help the reforestation and education project.

Day 1: Kumai, Tanjung Harapan

  • Morning pick-up from airport or Hotel to the boat
  • Greeted at Pangkalan Bun Airport by our friendly Guide with your name plaque card
  • Transfer from Airport directly to the boat, where you are welcomed by the full boat crew
  • Snacks and tea on arrival on the klotok
  • River cruise to Tanjung Puting National Park
  • Whilst enjoying the river cruise, spot the wildlife, including: Proboscis monkey, Long tail monkey, wild Orangutan, and much more
  • Have lunch on the boat while cruising the river to the first station at Tanjung Harapan
  • Orangutan feeding at 3pm
  • Return to the boat, where you will be able to spot proboscis monkey and macacque and various bird species
  • Enjoy a candlelight dinner, while listening to the sonata of nocturnal animals, birds and insect
  • Lie on the deck, to gaze at the stars and the clear night time sky
  • Overnight on the boat, under a mosquito net, covered by the boat deck, but with all the advantages of the outdoors

 

Day 2: Camp Leakey, Pondok Ambung

  • Breakfast on the boat, on route to next activity
  • Go to Camp Leakey for a trek- looking for wild orang-utan ,
  • Also discover the bountiful plant life, butterflies and insect species that exist in the rainforest
  • Back on the boat for lunch
  • View afternoon feeding of the orangutans on the outskirts of Camp Leakey
  • Spot crocodile while river cruising and having your afternoon delight
  • Brave a night trek through the jungles of Borneo, searching for glowing mushroom, nocturnal moths, deer, and tarsier- small nocturnal primate, unique to the region.Overnight on the boat, relaxing on the boat and in the wild

 

Day 3: Pondok Tanggui, Pesalat, Sekonyer village, Tanjung Harapan

  • Breakfast on the boat
  • Travel downstream to early morning orang-utan feeding at Pondok Tanggui (station 2)
  • Lunch on boat
  • Visit the reforestation site at Pasalat and plant trees to help and learn about the conservation plan for the rainforest.
  • Make memories and help make a lasting impact on the restoration of the rainforest
  • Learn about the medicinal properties of the various plants of the rainforest
  • Visit the local village and spend time with the locals, view hand-made souvenirs
  • Return to Tanjung Harapan for orangutan feeding
  • Back to the klotok for afternoon tea and fried banana
  • Travel downstream river to spot fire flies and other magical things that exist in the rainforests
  • Candlelit dinner back on the klotok
  • Overnight on boat, enjoying the tranquillity of the forest at night

 

Day 4: Tanjung Keluang –turtle research centre

  • Breakfast on the boat
  • Cruising Kumai bay to reach Tanjung Keluang
  • Learn about the turtle, breeding site, guests can release the turtle into the sea (donations are given to the research centre)
  • Lunch back on board the klotok
  • Relax on the white sand beach and swim at your leisure
  • View the picturesque sunset
  • Intimate Dinner on deck
  • Go explore the nightlife in the forest on a Night trek
  • Overnight on the klotok

 

Day 5: Kumai, Pangkalan Bun

  • Breakfast on the boat
  • Return to Kumai for city tour of Pangkalan Bun
  • Visit Sultanic Palace and learn history of the Sultanic Kingdom of the past
  • Organised transfer to the airport or Hotel

  • All meals whilst on the Boat, including breakfast, snack, lunch and dinner. Arrangements can be made for vegetarian
  • Tea, coffe and condense milk always available for your enjoyment

Note

  1. Please advise us before hand of any special dietary requirements or physical disabilities.
  2. First day itinerary depends on the arrival time at Pangkalan Bun Airport − morning arrival will be able to view the orangutan feeding on day one also early departure can be arrange in order to make a flight out of Pangkalan Bun on the last day of the trip.
  3. Our tour isn’t written in stone you could discuss with your guide for any changes but without change in price.
